Despite the current situation, July 4th is a very special holiday. Wishing you a safe 4th of July!
You don’t have to sacrifice your healthy habits in order to enjoy yourself at parties this summer. Here are some tips when you do go out to celebrate this weekend:
· Drink your water and stay hydrated
· Fill your plate with protein and veggies first
· Grill up fresh produce that can withstand the heat, including asparagus, peppers, and peaches
· If you want to snack, stick to fruits and lean protein
· Watch out for sauces – look for sauces
· Enjoy some alcoholic beverages. Casually sip on a drink, instead of shots after shots. That will just cause a hangover and pointless calories
· Get some movement in. Take a walk every hour, or workout beforehand
· Remember, a healthy portion of meat is about 3 ounces.
