Tips for a Healthy Thanksgiving

Let’s gather and be thankful! In the mid of all the craziness going on this year, let’s try and be thankful for all the positive in our lives. Although this year we celebrate a little differently let’s always be Thankful! We wish you and your loved ones Happy Thanksgiving!


Tips to maneuver a healthy mindset during the holidays! I’m always here to give it to you straight...Be mindful about what this holiday means: being grateful for all that you have while celebrating around the table. That’s it! No guilt, no shame, no nothing!


Pre/post-Thanksgiving Tips:

DON’T:

  • Be restrictive and “go on a juice cleanse”

  • Over exercise, all week to “undo” the food you ate

  • Get caught in a guilt cycle

This a vicious negative cycle one can get caught in. We need to stop the societal narrative, “go crazy during the holidays, and then undo everything Jan 1, new year new me”. The change starts with you and how you speak to yourself…that will, in turn, change the way you speak around others.


DO:

  • Nourish your body with healthy and satiating meals

  • Drink lots of water! Add in lemon and coconut water if you’d like!

  • Go on a walk and deep stretch to release points of tension

  • Be consistent with your sleep schedule

  • Call a friend and laugh about how fun the holiday week was
